RE: New RV, need a nice campground close by

If you do not want hookups, Fallen Timber Rec Area (Provincial) 15 miles WNW of Cremona. Watch for the sign on Hwy 22 to turn west about 2.5 miles N. of Cremona. It is about an hours drive from city limits.
If you want hookups and closer to Calgary, try a campground in Cochrane or another just 6 miles North of Cochrane on Hwy 22.

RE: anyone ran the gamut of,tt,fw,m-homes and thinking pup?

We have gone full circle. Since the first of this year we have gone from a 35 foot Class A to a Park Model for the winter and a Chalet LTW and Honda Civic for the summer.

RE: 06-bounder-- owners gas tank capacity

75 gallons in a 75 gallon tank would burst open on a hot summer day. All tanks have excess available to allow for expansion. An no, you will not get more miles if you wait for the fuel to expand because energy available is based on mass not volume. Your corn flakes are packed as mass not volume.

RE: Questions about leaving home in winter for extended time

..... you will be subjected to broken pipes unless you have "Quest" polybutelene or equal which can freeze solid and not break.
Jack L
Is this true for multiple cycles of freeze/thaw OR just a one shot? The reason I ask is unless the material shrinks back to its normal size after a freeze/thaw cycle, it will just keep getting bigger and bigger and something would have to give eventually.

RE: Hwy 40 Grande Prarie to Hinton in Alberta

We drove it with our 35' 99 F53 V10 pulling a toad. It is a new highway north of Grand Cache in great shape. From Hinton to Grand Cache the highway is older and a little bit rougher but not that bad.

RE: Customizing the shell of a Chalet -- is this possible?

I do not think the chassis would/could handle the weight, check out the rated gross capacity of the chassis as a starter.

RE: Chalet questions, comments, and ideas

Since the start of the year, we have moved from a 35 Foot Class A to a Park Model in AZ for the winter, and a Chalet LTW behind a Honda Civic for the summer. Next transition will probably be to a wheelbarrow.;)

RE: How Long to cool down??

I have an Excel spread sheet measuring this because I too was wondering. The fridge was a 99 Dometic 2 door. The starting temperature was same as outside air temperature, 55F, when the fridge was started. It took 3 hours for the freezer to reach 15F (fresh food compartment 38F) at which point it started to cycle to maintain 15F in the freezer. The fridge was empty and running on propane.

RE: Wintering in BC in a Motorhome

Having driven through Osoyoos in January, all I know is the lake was frozen. You are going to need a full winter package (all holding tanks heated) and a lot of propane.

Would this model year have the "auto eject" spark plug feature? Last five digits of s/n are 45616 if that makes any difference.

RE: savings?????

I see nothing wrong with money in the bank. Good feeling. There are investment folks that can and will help you with your financial planning, until you are broke ;)
I second this one! Except they are not "investment folks", they are "salesmen".

RE: F-53-V10 Fan Clutch Controversy.

Well apparently my 1999 V-10 does not operate as stated above. We were in the very long, slow & high RPM climb into Yosemite over Tioga Pass (East entrance) two years ago and every time the temperature gauge rose almost to the red mark I could hear the fan kick in and the temperature started dropping immediately even though I was still climbing. When the temperature got down to about normal the fan cut out and it would cycle again when the temperature got high again. I don't noticed that fan noise under any other circumstances.
Dave
Sounds like mine was the odd ball as far as hill climbing at high RPM....but on the other hand I never did see the temperature guage register a high temperature on these climbs.

RE: Engine Problems?

Worst case scenario, wouldn't the IAC make it go into limp mode, rather than cut out completely? I realize this is Ford, but GM will not even go into limp mode with an IAC failure. IAC fails, it just won't idle, or will die when you let off the gas, because there is no ant-stall, but it will not make it cut out completely as described. If it really does cut out completely, then Ford needs to do some homework on thier FI. Yes, IAC does move around while your driving, but it should still go down the road fine without it. Just wouldn't idle.
I had an IAC on a Jeep fail full closed and as soon as I let my foot off the gas she stalled and would not restart until I realized I had to keep the butterfly valve open with the gas pedal.
